GENERAL INFORMATION
Situated in North Western Namibia, WESTFALEN HUNTING SAFARIS covers a private hunting area of
more than 37 000 acres. As part of the Loxodonta Africana Conservancy, covering over 650 000 acres,
we offer FREE RANGING game. We hunt on the trail and sometimes from hides. The terrain is
mainly Mopane woodland with granite "koppies". Some areas are quite rugged and can only be explored
on foot. These are also the areas where the Mountain Zebra can be found.
On average we have about 300 sunny days per year. February and March is in our rainy season. From
April to August it can be colder in the mornings and evenings. September to November can be quite
warm, but since water resources are limited, conditions are ideal for hunting - especially
bow hunting.
Accommodations are most comfortable with guests staying in private quarters with en-suite bathrooms,
consisting of a shower, basin and flush toilet, with running hot and cold water. Electricity is
generated by solar power. Delectable home cooked meals are served in the dining area - what goes
into the pot, the hunter has shot! The newly established Elephant camp is quite an attraction since
the Desert Elephant move into the area occasionally, and the possibility to see them while hunting
is very exciting.
We offer excellent bowhunting free ranging animals.
Although our hunting area is enormous, we insist on keeping our business small.
To ensure that personal attention is of the highest standard, hunting parties are never mixed.
Clients are collected at the Airport outside Windhoek, for the five hour drive to Westfalen, and again
returned after their safari.
Trophies are handled with the utmost care until they are ready to be shipped to the destination of
each client's choice or local taxidermists. This process usually takes about three to four months.
WESTFALEN HUNTING SAFARIS is situated close to quite a few popular tourist attractions
including Etosha National Park, Kaokoveld and the Skeleton Coast.
Sight seeing trips can be arranged in addition to the hunting or as part of the hunting safari.
For fishing enthusiasts we arrange Tiger fishing on the Okavango and Zambezi Rivers, as well as
fishing at the Skeleton Coast. |
